Support for two group Projects for „Girls and young women in the southern province of Rwanda “Girintego mwari wa Huye” and Muhanga

In Rwanda, teenage pregnancies are a major problem that has steadily increased in recent years. We would like to address girls and young women who have left school because of an unwanted pregnancy.
Iriba-Brunnen e.V. supports „Girls and young women in the South Province in Huye and Muhanga” for their future. Girls and women are trained to learn the necessary techniques (e.g. tailoring, sewing, knitting and handicrafts). The aim is to enable them to set up and run a sewing workshop. They are trained so that they can produce or rework the clothing themselves in a sewing workshop. With this project we want to offer these young girls a great opportunity by giving them the possibility to learn sewing professionally. This will enable them to find a job in the future and to look after themselves and their children. The trained girls should create a cooperative and after the training they should continue to work in this cooperative so that they can benefit from the advantages of the cooperative.
The sewing project also aims to enable the girls concerned to establish an economic existence and socio-cultural stabilization.

Ziele

The sewing project with professional support is not only intended to train manual skills, but also to strengthen the girls‘ personality and sense of community.
Iriba-Brunnen e.V. helps the Rwandan partner to purchase sewing machines.

Other projects are planned in Benin, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Congo Democratic and Republic of Congo.
